OPINION

SWEET, District Judge.

The defendants Apotex, Inc. and Apotex Corp. (collectively, “Apotex”) have moved pursuant to Rules 37(a)(2) and 37(a)(3) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure to compel plaintiffs Sanofi-Synthelabo, Sanofi-Synthelabo Inc. and Bristol-Myers Squibb Sanofi Pharmaceuticals Holding Partnership (collectively, “Sanofi”) to (1) produce all correspondence after November 4,1988, in unredacted form, bearing on the subject matter of why Sanofi decided to cancel original claims 6-9 in the prosecution of patent application 07/155,550, which matured into U.S. Patent 4,847,265…
