This is an appeal by the defendant from a judgment for the plaintiff based on the verdict of a jury in an action to recover damages for personal injuries arising out of an automobile accident.

Plaintiff was injured while riding in a ear driven by her husband which collided with a Chevrolet pickup truck owned by the defendant and operated by his stepson Lonnie Rogers, then 16 years of age. The accident occurred in the early hours of the morning when the truck stalled on the highway apparently because of a defective carburetor.
