On September 15, 1988, the Director of the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility (“Director”) filed a petition for disciplinary action against Harlan P. Klein (“Respondent”). The petition alleged respondent intentionally obtained a default judgment through the use of deceit and false statements made under oath. Respondent denied the charges and this court referred the matter to the Honorable Marquis L. Ward as referee.
