Plaintiff is the widow of deceased Eben Lucas, who, on January 15, 1933, at Alhambra, California, made application for a policy of accident insurance in the sum of $5,000. Deceased will hereinafter be referred to as “applicant”. The application was received at the home office of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, hereinafter called “company”, on February 1, 1933.
