An appeal by plaintiff from a judgment rendered in favor of defendant, after verdict by a jury, in an action brought to recover the sum of $16,500, claimed to be due appellant as commission for the sale of the steamer “Portland,” belonging to the respondent, under a contract wherein a gross commission of five per cent of the purchase price was agreed upon.
