KELLY, Judge:
In this appeal we must determine whether the trial court had the authority under Pa. R.Civ.P. 218(a) to enter a judgment of non pros against the plaintiff when she failed to appear for an arbitration hearing. We hold that Pa.R.Civ.P. 218(a)1 which authorizes a trial court to enter a judgment of non pros when a plaintiff fails to appear for trial is inapplicable to an arbitration proceeding. Thus, we vacate the trial court’s orders entering judgment of non pros against appellant and denying her petition to open the judgment of non pros and remand the case for further proceedings…
