MEMORANDUM OPINION

WALTON, District Judge.

Currently before the Court is the defendant’s motion for a judgment of acquittal, ■ a new trial, or in the alternative a reduction in his sentence pursuant to Rule 35 of the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure. The motion was initially submitted to the Court by way of a personal letter written by the defendant (“Def.’s Letter”). 1 The letter was dated December 28, 2002, it is postmarked December 31, 2002, and it was actually received by the Court on January 3, 2003.
