Plaintiff was defeated by the verdict of a jury in an action brought against defendant in a plea of trespass on the case to recover damages for negligence and professional misconduct while attending her as a physician and surgeon; it being charged that he performed upon her without her consent two major surgical operations which deprived her of the ability to bear children and resulted in an abdominal postoperative hernia. Defendant, a regular physician and surgeon, has been engaged in general practice since 1895, specializing in surgery and gynecology. At the time of the events complained of…
