This action was originally brought by James Murdaugh, as plaintiff, against Traders & Mechanics Insurance Company, as defendant; for the recovery of the amount of a fire insurance policy, with interest, in the Court of Common Pleas for Aiken County, resulting in a judgment in favor of the plaintiff for the full amount claimed. The case comes before us upon the appeal of the defendant from this judgment. Pending the appeal, the plaintiff, James Murdaugh, died intestate, and the cause was continued in the name of Essie Murdaugh, as administratrix of his estate.…
