TROUT, Chief Justice.

This is an appeal from the district court’s order denying Rick G. Hollon’s (Hollon) claims for post-conviction relief following an evidentiary hearing. We affirm the district court.

BACKGROUND

On or about February 27, 1994, Hollon drove past the home of Julie Fender (Fender) in Filer, Idaho. Hollon then left to get a 12-gauge shotgun and then returned to Fender’s residence.
