The judgments under review were entered in actions in which the plaintiffs seek to recover from the defendants the damages sustained by Virginia McCaffrey, widow of Bernard McCaffrey, deceased, and by Catherine O’Brien, widow of Frank O’Brien, deceased, and by the estates of those deceased persons, as the result of alleged negligence of the defendants in their operation of a railroad engine and crossing signals on May 11, 1934.
