This case arises from appellant Barbara Baker’s application in district court for an order for protection under the Domestic Abuse Act, Minn.Stat. § 518B.01- (1990), against her estranged husband, James Baker. Based upon her affidavit and motion, the trial court issued an ex parte temporary restraining order that excluded James Baker from Barbara Baker’s residence and restrained him from harassing her at work.
