OPINION
LANCASTER, Justice.
Respondent Jostens Incorporated commenced an action against appellant Federated Mutual Insurance Company in Ramsey County District Court for defense costs and indemnification stemming from chemical contamination at a Jostens operating plant site. Federated subsequently filed a motion for summary judgment. After the court denied this motion, Federated moved the court to certify two questions as “important and doubtful” pursuant to Minn. R.
