For convenience, we shall refer to the parties as they appeared in the trial court. Edith Holland, as plaintiff, commenced this action in the district court of Lincoln county, against the defendant Bertha Davis for the recovery of personal judgment on a promissory note in the sum of $1,500, and interest at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum, and for foreclosure of a second real estate mortgage on 80 acres of land, securing the payment thereof.
