The action was for the partition of some four hundred and eighty acres of land in Kings County, it being alleged in the complaint that the plaintiff and the defendant Melodile Bryant each owned an undivided one-half interest in the land. The other defendants had liens on the property and they made no contest, but appellants in their answer denied that respondent had any interest whatever in the land, and they claimed that Melodile Bryant was the sole owner thereof.
