The present action comes before this court sitting en banc on a grant of the plaintiffs’ motion for reconsideration filed pursuant to Practice Book § 4122. Initially, the plaintiffs appealed to the Appellate Court, pursuant to the grant of a petition for certification,1 wherein they sought review of a judgment dismissing their administrative appeal from a decision of the zoning board of appeals of the town of Fairfield (board).
