Rex B. Wingerter, the respondent, 1 was convicted, following the tender of a guilty plea in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, of misprision of a felony. 2 In consideration of the plea of guilty, the United States Government dismissed the remaining counts of a multi-count Indictment that earlier had been filed against him. The respondent was thereafter sentenced to a period of imprisonment, a year of supervised release, community service and a fine.
