Rowan Parkinson and Shirley Parkinson 1 (“plaintiffs”), commenced this products liability action against Guidant Corporation and Advanced Cardiovascular Systems, Inc. (“ACS”) seeking recovery for injuries sustained by Rowan Parkinson when a guidewire manufactured by defendant ACS fractured during the course of an angioplasty procedure on May 11, 1999.
