ADELMAN, District Judge.

Plaintiff Janice Gotz filed this action under 42 U.S.C. § 405(g) seeking review of the decision of defendant Jo Anne Barn-hart, Commissioner of the Social Security Administration (“defendant” or “the Commissioner”), denying her application for disability benefits under the Social Security Act. The matter was assigned to Magistrate Judge William E. Callahan, Jr. for pretrial purposes, and on January 8, 2002 he issued a recommendation that the decision be reversed and the case remanded for further proceedings. 1 Defendant filed no objections, but…
