This is an appeal by the defendant from a judgment against him in an action to recover damages for the breach of a contract by defendant for the purchase of a carload of caustic soda. The findings show that the plaintiff is a New Jersey corporation and filed a copy of its articles of incorporation in the office of the Secretary of State of the state of California, and a certified copy thereof in the office of the county clerk of San Francisco; that the contract sued upon was entered into between the parties for the purchase and sale of a carload of caustic soda at an agreed price, f. o. b.…
