Defendant appeals from an order denying his motion to vacate a judgment entered against him in a divorce action and for a trial of the action on the merits. Appeal is also taken from the judgment itself.

Plaintiff commenced an action for absolute divorce against her husband, the defendant, by the service upon him of a summons and complaint on January 3, 1953. The summons and complaint were dated December 23,1952. Plaintiff and defendant had been married 33 years, their only children being two adult sons.
