On May 3, 1993, Ronald Kuehl brought this action in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin against Chrysler Pension Plan (hereinafter “Chrysler Plan”) and Chrysler Corporation (hereinafter “Chrysler”), alleging that he has been denied pension benefits due him under the Employment Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), 29 U.S.C. § 1001, et seq. and under a theory of promissory estoppel.
