DODGE, Circuit Judge.

The rights asserted by the appellees, plaintiffs in the District Court, are based upon a contract in writing, made at Ponce, March 20, 1905, between them and Adelaida Olivieri. Her agreements were as follows:

“I agree to pay to Messrs. Pettingill and Leake, my lawyers, the half of what I may receive if the judgment of the court is favorable in a suit which I am going to bring in the Federal Court against Antonio Olivieri, executor of Felix Olivieri, if said lawyers pay all the costs and expenses of said suit, and carry it to a conclusion, in case of settlement the lawyers…
