The defendant, Kevin Coughlin, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a juiy trial, of assault in the second degree with a motor vehicle in violation of General Statutes § 53a-60d,' operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquor in violation of General Statutes § 14-227a (a) (l)1 2 and operating a motor vehicle while the *92ratio of alcohol in his blood was ten-hundredths of 1 percent or more of alcohol in violation of General Statutes § 14-227a (a) (2).3 The defendant claims that the trial court improperly (1) admitted evidence of…
