O’CONNELL, C. J.
The defendant appeals1 from his conviction, following a jury trial, of murder in violation *580of General Statutes § 53a-54a. Our Supreme Court reversed a previous murder conviction and remanded the case for a new trial. State v. Sivri, 231 Conn. 115, 646 A.2d 169 (1994) (Sivri I).
The defendant claims that the trial court improperly (1) admitted evidence of the victim’s family life, (2) admitted evidence of handguns and ammunition found in the defendant’s brother’s room, (3) concluded there was sufficient evidence of intent to kill, (4) commented to the jury in its lesser…
