The National Labor Relations Board (Board), petitions pursuant to section 10(e) of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA or the Act), 29 U.S.C. § 160(e) (1976), for enforcement of its September 9, 1980 order against the respondent, Island Typographers, Inc. (Island or the company). The Board found that Island had violated section 8(a)(1) and (5) of the Act by unilaterally deciding to replace its “hot type” typesetting operation with a “cold type” method of production, 1 and by furloughing its linotypists without giving the Long Island Typographical Union No. 915,…
