This case is here on an appeal and cross-appeal from a judgment rendered in the Circuit Court of the County of St. Louis. Plaintiff-respondent, Stanley J. Sheinbein, brought suit against defendant-appellant, The First Boston Corporation, for breach of a sales contract calling for the sale of 250 debentures to the plaintiff. The jury returned a verdict against defendant-appellant in the amount of $12,500 plus prejudgment interest. That amount was just half of the $25,000 prayer that plaintiff-respondent had sought.
