The plaintiffs, three Haitian former employees of defendant District of Columbia Public Schools Division of Transportation (“DOT”), brought claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), 29 U.S.C. § 207 et seq., and District of Columbia statutory and common law alleging that a DOT supervisor illegally required the plaintiffs to pay kickbacks in order to secure overtime assignments.
