This case came to us by an order of transfer here after decision by the District Court of Appeal of the Second District, Division Two. We were unable to agree with the conclusion of said court that the judgment against the defendant Spurlin should be reversed for the reasons stated in the opinion of said appellate court, or for any reason appearing in the record. We were, and now are, in accord with the conclusion reached by said court that the judgment for compensatory damages is excessive and should be reduced from the sum of $50,000, the amount fixed by the verdict of the jury, to the sum…
