The plaintiff brought this action to recover on three different promissory notes, executed and delivered by defendant to the Virden Packing Company, a corporation. Each of the notes is dated July 17, 1919, and each is for the sum of $250, with interest after maturity at the rate of six per cent per annum. The notes represented the remainder of the total purchase price of ten shares of stock of the Virden Packing Company subscribed for by defendant after the payment thereon by the latter of the sum of $250 in cash, and were made payable, respectively, four, eight and twelve months after date.…
