The defendant appealed from a judgment which was rendered against him in a suit for unlawful detention of a leased store building in Petaluma. It is conceded that the defendant held possession of the property after the expiration of the lease, and that he owes plaintiff two months’ rent aggregating the sum of $640. The court also allowed plaintiff an item of $200 as special damages, sustained by her on account of the delay in surrendering possession of the property.
