This is an action to recover a balance due under a contract. The trial court, rendered judgment for the defendant and plaintiff appeals from said judgment.

On April 2, 1928, respondent entered into a contract with the Southern California Edison Company by the terms of which respondent agreed to construct for said California Edison Company two houses and two garages at Vestal, California, and one house and one garage at Baileys, California.
