This was a suit wherein plaintiff, the husband, sought a divorce from his wife on the ground of her alleged wilful desertion. She answered denying plaintiff’s claim in that regard, and by cross bill prayed for a divorce on the ground of cruel and inhuman treatment. She also asked for alimony, attorneys’ fees, and expenses. Plaintiff’s reply put in issue all new matter alleged in the answer. Although the suit was begun in July 1944, it did not come on for trial until July 8, 1946.
