Plaintiffs Timothy Laurent, Smeeta Sharon, and Michael A. Weil sue Defendant PriceWaterhouseCoopers (“PWC”) alleging that PWC’s Retirement Benefit Accumulation Plan for Employees of Pri-ceWaterhouseCoopers LLP (“the RBAP”) violates the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, 29 U.S.C. § 1001, et seq. (2000) (“ERISA”). In particular plaintiffs allege that the RBAP violates ERISA’s standards for calculating lump-sum benefits payable from a cash balance pension plan, standards for calculating accrued benefits, and age discrimination rules.
