This is an original proceeding in this court to compel the state controller to issue a warrant on the state treasury in favor of the plaintiff for his salary as justice of the district court of appeal of the second district for the month of June, 1905. The plaintiff demanded compensation for that month at the rate of eight thousand dollars a year, which the defendant refused.
