EVERETT, Chief Judge:

In February 1988, Corporal Poole was tried by a special court-martial with officer and enlisted members on a charge that “at an unknown location, between about 18 August 1987 and 27 August 1987,” he had “wrongfully use[d] cocaine,” in violation of Article 112a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 912a. Contrary to his pleas, he was convicted and sentenced to a bad-conduct discharge and reduction to pay grade E-l.
