WISS, Judge.

A general court-martial with officer members tried appellant for premeditated murder and aggravated assault, see Arts. 118 and 128, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 918 and 928, respectively. After a contested trial, the members convicted appellant of unpremeditated murder and aggravated assault, and sentenced him to a dishonorable discharge, confinement for life, and reduction to the lowest enlisted grade.
