hThe plaintiff, an inmate in the custody of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, alleged that he was injured in a work-related accident and subsequently received inadequate medical treatment. He filed suit, seeking damages and an injunction requiring the defendants to provide him with appropriate medical treatment. Thereafter, the defendants filed an exception of insufficient service and motion to dismiss for failure to request service.
