SCHALLER, J.
The defendant, Juan Fernando Ramirez, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of sexual assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-70 (a) (l).1 On appeal, the defendant claims that the trial court improperly (1) denied his motion to suppress certain evidence found during an unlawful search by police, and (2) precluded him from questioning witnesses regarding the victim’s postassault conduct in violation of his constitutional rights to confrontation and to present a defense.
