OPINION

TROTT, Circuit Judge:

Don Soon Park seeks review of a decision by the District Court for the Central

District of California dismissing his petition for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254(a) (1994). Park’s petition contained four claims. The district court dismissed his first claim on the merits, holding that the state court’s consolidation for trial of crimes committed on different occasions did hot present a federal due process concern.
