EVELEIGH, J.

After a trial before a three judge court,1 the defendant, Lee Edwards, was convicted of one count each of manslaughter in the first degree in violation of General Statutés § 53a-55 (a) (3),2 assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-59 (a) (3), and risk of injury to a child in violation of General Statutes § 53-21 (a) (1). The defendant was acquitted of a charge of capital felony murder.
