This is an appeal from a judgment in a state highway condemnation case. In March, 1936, the state highway commission, desiring to widen and improve a portion of the state highway system, known locally as the “Reidy Road,” in Wyandotte county, filed its petition, in due form, for the appointment of appraisers for the taking of a strip of land 50 feet wide and 363 feet long belonging to J.
