DUNN, J.

After serving as a police officer for the City of Los Angeles, William McLeod retired from active service because of allegedly severe personal injuries sustained in the performance of duty. After his retirement, he filed an application for a disability pension with the Board of Pension Commissioners of the City of Los Angeles. A hearing was had and the application was denied. Thereafter the board agreed to grant a rehearing and re quested that McLeod undergo new physical examinations.
