Defendants appeal from the judgment and from an order denying their motion for a new trial.
Plaintiff, Laura Broads, was the lessee of the second and third stories of a three-story building on Spring Street in Los Angeles, the lease being in writing for a two-year term. Defendants were lessees of the first story. Plaintiff carried on a restaurant in the second story and occupied the third story as a place of residence.
