OPINION AND ORDER
COFFRIN, District Judge.
This case presents a challenge to state and federal welfare regulations which reqüire indigent children and their parents or guardians to obtain Social Security Account Numbers (“SSN’s”) and furnish them to the government as a condition of eligibility for family welfare assistance. The regulations are said to conflict with provisions of the Social Security Act of 1935, as amended, and the Privacy Act of 1974, and to violate the plaintiffs’ constitutional rights to privacy and equal protection.
