Respondent Darrel Schmitz commenced an action against his former employer, appellant United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel), alleging, among other things, retaliatory-discharge and threat-to-discharge claims under the Workers’ Compensation Act (WCA), MinmStat. §§ 176.001-.862 (2012). After various proceedings below, we granted U.S. Steel’s petition for review on two issues.
