This proceeding came before the court on an information filed against Wesley A. Steffke by the United States District Attorney for the District of Minnesota on the 10th day of June, 1940, charging said defendant in forty-three counts with violations of the Motor Carrier Act, Title 49 U.S.C.A. § 306 (a), which prohibits a common carrier by motor vehicle from engaging in the transportation of property for the general public in interstate or foreign commerce for compensation, without there being in force with respect to such carrier a certificate of public convenience and…
