Plaintiff, John Shellman, a longshoreman employed by Marine Terminals Corporation [herein “Marine”], was injured while working aboard United States Lines’ vessel, American Aquarius. Under the Longshoremen’s and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, 33 U.S.C. § 901 et seq., Shellman brought this third party action against defendant shipowner, United States Lines.
