¶1 On April 15,1998, District Court Judge Jeffery H. Langton of the Twenty-First Judicial District in Ravalli County, found petitioner, Lisa B. Kauffman, Esq., in contempt of court. Judge Langton ordered Kauffman to serve twenty-four hours in the Ravalli County Jail and fined her the sum of $500.

¶2 Kauffman immediately filed a petition for writ of certiorari with this Court, and on April 16,1998, we stayed the execution of the contempt order and set forth a briefing schedule. After briefs were submitted, on May 14,1998, this Court dismissed the petition on procedural grounds without…
