SEYMOUR, Circuit Judge.
This action was brought against Central Kansas Medical Center (Hospital) under the Equal Pay provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C. §§ 206(d)(1), 215(a)(2), 255(a) (1976).1 After a trial to the bench, the district court found that: (1) *1272the Hospital had violated the Act by paying its male janitors more than its female housekeepers for substantially equal work; (2) the discrepancy in pay was not due to a factor other than sex; and (3) the violations were willful.
